Service ChangeS

Proposed Service Changes

Realignment of Sun Shuttle Route 401

It is recommended that the Sun Shuttle Route 401 moves the stops that are currently on Magee and at CDO High School out to Oracle Rd. Travel will remain on Oracle between Magee and Calle Concordia.

It is also recommended that Saturday service for Route 401 be discontinued as a result of historic low ridership on Saturdays.

Sun Shuttle Route 411

As a result of low ridership, it is recommended that Sun Shuttle Route 411 be discontinued. According to Regional Transportation Authority standards, all Sun Shuttle routes should serve a minimum of 4 passengers per hour. In the last two years, Route 411 has averaged only 1.7 passengers per hour.

The Sun shuttle route 412 will service part of the Route 411 area.

Sun Shuttle Routes 412 & 413

Sun Shuttle Routes 412 and 413 are recommended for realignment in order to serve the Tucson Premium Outlets, improve on-time performance, and offset the discontinued Route 411.

Route 412 is recommended to continue most of its current routing, but to be rerouted at W. Linda Vista Blvd. to Tucson Premium Outlets. This will eliminate the stop at Thornydale and Tangerine.

Route 413 will continue current routing in north Marana, with a new stop at the Tucson Premium Outlets, so southbound passengers heading to Regency Plaza can transfer to Route 412. Route 413 will then continue to Arizona Pavillions.

Sun Shuttle Route 421

In order to improve on-time performance and reduce duplication in service, staff recommends discontinuing the Casa Community Center stop. It is recommended the southern-most stop of Route 421 will be at the Wal-Mart off of S. Nogales Hwy. The Green Valley/Sahuarita Dial-a-Ride will still be available to transport customers from the discontinued stops to Wal-Mart at the same fare of $1.75 since both are identified as optional stops (yellow stops) in the Dial-a-Ride area. Dial-a-Ride customers can transfer for free with a SunGO Card as long as they are going to an Optional Stop (yellow stop).
