About Route 6

Route 6 (Euclid/North 1st Ave) has transported over 50,000 passengers monthly, offering reliable and efficient service to major destinations. With stops at local schools and libraries, it ensures easy access for students and families. Starting at the Ronstadt Transit Center downtown, this route conveniently links to the Tohono Tadai Transit Center and the Greyhound Bus Station for easy transit options. Shop and play with stops at Fantasticks and Tucson Mall, two popular local attractions. Education is at the forefront with quick access to Tucson High School, The University of Arizona, and the Woods Memorial Library. Essential government services are covered with a stop at the Social Security Office.

Downtown Tucson

Route 6 drops you off at the heart of downtown at the Ronstadt Transit Center (RTC), Tucson’s central transportation hub. RTC connects you to multiple Sun Tran and Sun Express routes, plus the Sun Link Streetcar. In downtown Tucson you can find a mix of culture featuring an array of restaurants, museums, theaters and unique local businesses making it a popular spot for locals and visitor alike.

Pima County Historic Courthouse

The Pima County Historic Courthouse, a beloved Tucson landmark, was built in 1929 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. Serving for 86 years, it hosted weddings and housed County departments. In 1978, it earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. Its elegant blue-tiled dome, now a regional icon, also features in the official Pima County logo.

Did you know? This historic landmark has been the backdrop to a few blockbuster films, including the 1956 “A Kiss Before Dying,” and the 1976 movie “A Star is Born.”

Main Gate Square

Main Gate Square, a lively dining and shopping spot near the University of Arizona, offers over 20 retailers and 30 restaurants. Woods Memorial Library

Woods Memorial Library has been a cornerstone of the Amphi neighborhood since 1968, welcoming one of Tucson’s most diverse communities. This 16,650-square-foot hub offers library programs, workshops, and a snack program. It is a vibrant gathering spot for families, teens, and kids.

 

Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration office provides vital services to the community, including assistance with Social Security benefits, Medicare enrollment, and issuing replacement Social Security cards. Conveniently located, the office serves a wide range of individuals, from retirees to those applying for disability benefits, offering guidance and resources to help navigate the Social Security system.

Tohono Tadai Transit Center

The Tohono Tadai Transit Center, located on Tucson’s northwest side, is a key hub for the city’s transit system. With a convenient park-and-ride facility, it offers easy connections to Sun Tran routes 15, 16, 17, 19, 34, 61, and Sun Shuttle Route 412, making it an essential link for seamless travel across Tucson.
