What is On Demand?
Sun On Demand provides door-to-door rides for individuals traveling within each zone. Riders can make reservations one to seven days in advance, and when possible, on the same day. Services are provided on ﬁrst-come, ﬁrst-serve basis If you are traveling outside the zone, Sun On Demand will drop you off at a Sun Tran bus stop, in the zone, or connect you to the Sun Link Streetcar in Zone 1.
How To Make A Reservation
- To schedule a ride, call Sun Van Reservations at (520) 798-1000, press option 3, one to seven days in advance, or same day. Same day services are not guaranteed.
- When making your reservation, specify you want to ride Sun On Demand. Provide your name, date of travel, departure location, destination and desired arrival time.
- Be ready at your scheduled pick-up location at least 5 minutes early. Wait where the Sun On Demand driver can see you.
- When you board, verify your desired drop-off location with the driver.

Be Safe and Respect Other Riders
- No smoking on board, including electronic cigarettes.
- No bicycles are allowed on the vehicles as there are no bike racks.
- Children under 5 are required to bring a car seat.
- All vehicles are wheelchair and electric scooter accessible
- Except for service animals, keep pets enclosed in small cages or cardboard boxes.
- Food & beverages must be in a closed container

What is On Demand?

If you are traveling outside the zone, Sun On Demand will drop you off at a Sun Tran bus stop, in the zone. You can even connect to the Sun Link streetcar, if traveling in Zone 1.
What does door-to-door service mean?
Passengers are picked up and dropped off at the curb of the address they indicated when scheduling their trip.
What areas do On Demand cover?
The maps of Zone 1 and Zone 2 are pictured above. Customer service can be reached at (520) 792-9222, for specific routing questions.
How much does it cost to ride?
ALL FARES ON TRANSIT ARE CURRENTLY FREE THROUGH 2020. When fares resume, the cost to ride to any destination within the zone is $3.20, unless you are a SunGO ID & Card holder, then the ride is $1.60. If you are using On Demand to connect to a Sun Tran route or the Sun Link streetcar, the ride is then free.
How do I pay for my On Demand trip?
To make boarding faster, you can create an account and prepay with an On Demand Reservationist at 520-798-1000, press option 3; pay with your SunGO or SunGO ID & Card; or pay with cash when you board (operators do not carry change). Daily, monthly, or annual passes are not accepted. Fares are free through 2020.
What are the hours of operation?
Monday thru Friday: 6 AM to 8 PM
Saturday: 8 AM to 7 PM
Sunday: 9 AM to 5 PM
How do I book my ride?
To reserve your ride, call a reservationist at (520) 798-1000, press option 3, and specify you want an On Demand reservation.
How far in advance do I need to book my ride?
Reservations can be made one to seven days in advance, or same day; however, same day services are not guaranteed.
What do I need to make a reservation?
You will need to provide the reservations with your name, date of travel, departure location (address), destination (address), and desired arrival time (or departure time).
Can I book an On Demand trip the day of?
Yes, same-day rides are available, however, riders may need to be flexible with their travel times. Same day rides are not guaranteed.
How can I make a group trip?
If you are making a group trip call our reservationist at (520) 798-1000, press option 3, and let them know the number of people, the address for the pick-up location, the address for the drop off location, and the arrival and departure time.
Am I able to make a reoccurring trip?
Yes, reoccurring trips, for individuals and groups, can be made through our reservationist at (520) 798-1000, option 3.
Can I take my bike on an On Demand vehicle?
Bikes are not allowed on the On Demand vehicle, as there are no bike racks.
Are the On Demand vehicles ADA accessible?
Yes, all On Demand vehicles are wheelchair and electric scooter accessible.
Are pets allowed on the On Demand vehicles?
Pets are allowed on the On Demand vehicles. They must be in an enclosed small cage or cardboard box, service animals excluded.
