Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a good driving record and the ability to learn to safely operate a paratransit vehicle. Should have basic reading, writing and math skills and follow written and oral instructions. Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing; establish and maintain courteous, friendly, and effective relations with passengers, the public and fellow employees. ALL APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS A CURRENT VALID ARIZONA DRIVERS LICENSE AND PROVIDE A CURRENT 39 MONTH MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT IF CALLED FOR AN INTERVIEW.

Van Operator shifts may include Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

$23.43 – 29.28/hr

Essential Functions

Monitor Trapeze and Transit Master issues; Post and administer work bid and vacation bid for Coach Operators, monitors manpower status; Prepare a weekly manpower report and seniority list; Prepare Operator schedules; Provide coverage for Dispatcher, Radio Operator, Road Supervisor, and Scheduling Coordinator; Meet with New Coach Operators throughout their training. Prepare promotion and probation letters; Help operators with payroll issues and questions; Track non-revenue vehicles’ mileage and repair, using Asset-Works software; Coordinate the in-house communication of schedule change information within the Sun Van departments, customer service representatives, and the Union; Performs additional duties as assigned to support evolving operational needs and ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery

$25.45/ per hour

Qualifications

High School Diploma and four years in the transportation industry. Two years of college may substitute for up to two years of required experience. Intermediate computer skills required (Trapeze and Microsoft experience preferred). Previous supervisory experience a plus.
